Edward Charles Lampert was born on the 24th of January 1904 and his birth was registered in Christchurch, Hants. His father was John Lampert and his mother, Elizabeth.
In the 1911 census, he is referred to as Charles and he was aged 7 and born in Winton, Bournemouth. He was living in Victoria Villa, in Victoria Road, Ferndown with his parents, John and Elizabeth and three older siblings, Augustus, Bessie and Reginald. In 1921, the family was living at 90 Hankinson Road, Winton.
In the December quarter of 1927, he, Edward C. Lampert married Ethel M. Alner in Bournemouth.
He served as a Gunner, number 748334, in the 522 Coast Regiment, Royal Artillery. The 552 (Dorsetshire) Coast Regiment was formed from part of the Dorsetshire Heavy Regiment RA (TA), in July 1940 and from February 1941 it was based at Bexhill, Sussex or Dorset.
On the 17th of March 1942, he (Charles Edward) died aged 38 and was buried on the 21st of March at St Marks, Talbot Village, Bournemouth. He had been living at 49 Kinson Road, Bournemouth.
